4A Games is a developer of video games. They have just released their first game, Metro 2033.[1]

History[ | ]

The company was formed in Kiev, Ukraine[2]. It was founded by people who split off from GSC Game World a year before the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, in particular Oles' Shyskovtsov and Oleksandr Maksymchuk, the programmers who worked on the development of X-Ray engine used in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.[3] They developed the 4A Engine for Metro 2033.

Titles[ | ]

Since the company’s inception, 4A Games has been working on Metro 2033. As of March 2010, Metro 2033 has completed and been released. In June 2010 4A Games announced Metro 2034 along with plans for a 3D version of Metro 2033.[4] Since then, 4A Games has released both Metro: Last Light, as well as remastered versions of both titles, Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux. In 2019, 4A Games released Metro: Exodus as an Epic Games Store-exclusive title; despite the game being previously advertised on Steam, Metro: Exodus was pulled from the Steam Store, with only those that had pre-ordered the title able to play the game on release through the Steam Client.
