Uniquely for a boss fight in Final Fantasy VII, this features your characters using a 'pincer' side-attack formation, with Cloud on one side and Tifa and Barret on the other side. This formation can give your party a sizeable advantage if you can time your attacks correctly; if you attack from behind, Air Buster takes 500% normal damage, making limit breaks extremely valuable in this fight. As this fight needs precise timing for maximum advantage, it may be better for a character to sometimes avoid making their move that turn, in which case, pressing the button will skip that character's turn.

Similar to the tactics used for Guard Scorpion, have the character with the Lightning Materia use the Bolt spell repeatedly.

The AI for this boss uses its attacks as sequences in two 'programs'; Program 1 and Program 2. In Program 1, Air Buster will use its Big Bomber attack, although this can only be used a maximum of four times during the entire battle. The attack does moderate damage to your party, so heal up after it's been used and try to keep your HP near 200 if possible. During Program 2, it will use its less powerful Energy Ball attack, which is only capable of causing 60% of the damage of Big Bomber.
