Annet Futatabi is the final video game in the Earnest Evans series developed by Wolf Team, now known as Namco Tales Studio. The game was the second in the series released on the Mega-CD, after the series' titular debut. The game was the only entry unreleased in North America, likely due to Wolf Team's publisher Renovation being absorbed by Sega and the company's subsequent emphasis on Super Nintendo games, leading to Tales of Phantasia.

Mechanically, the game rejected the platform mechanics that drove the series' preceding titles, Earnest Evans and El Viento. Instead, the game takes a structure comparable to Golden Axe. The player controls Annet, the protagonist from El Viento, as she roams through numerous settings attacking monsters and enemies.
