This game has a mini-wiki, which means it is either a smaller or an unpopular video game, which most likely has no full wiki (yet), but it does at least have some of the game's in-universe content documented on this wiki. Arctico is an open world survival craft/exploration base building game, currently under early access, developed and published by indie developers Claudio Norori and Antonio Vargas. It was released on 24 November 2014 for Microsoft Windows and Macintosh operating systems.

Premise[]

The premise mainly revolves around using any sort of transportation available in the game (dog sleigh, kayak, or a parachute) to explore a cold island while expanding the base and setting up experiments.

Gameplay[]

This game is set in cold and deserted island, and the objective is to survive, craft, and go on adventures. In regards of transportation, the dog sleigh will take the player anywhere they want to in the game, and the player has to take care of their basic needs and enjoy their company in this island. The player will also be equipped with a kayak, a parachute and a glider at their disposal to explore the island more easily.

This game also features base building, where players have to start by placing drills, set up experiments, sell plant seeds, and expand their scientific department. They will also have to take care of their plants and experiments by producing lots of crops and data, which will allow them to expand their base and buy new equipment. Players can also find new decorative objects to decorate and place them anywhere in the base as they desire.

This game can be played either solo or in local multiplayer, with only one other friend.

Development[]

Arctico was released on Steam on 24 November 2014 under early access. One of the developers have stated that they have started working on this game when they were 19 years old.

Around six years later, one of the developers, Claudio Norori, have posted on the subreddit r/gaming that after six years of constant development of the game, he hopes that the game will leave early access in 2021.[1]

On a now removed post on r/pcgaming, Norori has stated that the game is almost finished.[2] A trailer for the game was uploaded to YouTube on 29 August 2021.
