Battlefield 1943 is a first-person shooter developed byDICE and published by Electronic Arts first released on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace on July 8, 2009 for 1200 MS points and on the PlayStation Store on July 9, 2009 for $15 USD. It is not considered to be the "sequel" to Battlefield 1942, but more of a "revisioning" of 1942.

It runs version 1.5 of the Frostbite Engine, improving upon destructible environments and allowing entire buildings to be destroyed, albeit without rubble - unlike in Battlefield: Bad Company 2. On August 31, 2010, it was announced that Battlefield 1943 would be bundled with the Ultimate Edition of Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

On February 3, 2011, it was announced that the development of the PC version was finally cancelled, along with the development of Onslaught for Bad Company 2 for the same platform, this was done to concentrate all work on the upcoming release of Battlefield 3.

Gameplay[]

The game is based on World War II, the player can control either the United States Marine Corps or the Imperial Japanese Navy. The game features the same engine as Battlefield: Bad Company. Battlefield 1943 only features three classes: Infantryman, Rifleman and Scout. Each class has an unlimited stack of ammo

The game also has realistic driving physics and There are four vehicle types: Fighter, Tank, Jeep, Landing Craft. If you select to start in a plane you will be on a carrier and you will have to fly to the warzone successfully.
