William Henry "Bill" Gates III (born October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington, U.S.) is an American businessman, software developer, investor, author, and philanthropist. He co-founded Microsoft Corporation in 1975, and has held the positions of chairman, CEO, president, and chief software architect. He was a major entreprenuer of the microcomputer revolution of the 1970s and 1980s.
