In gaming, Blue magic is the umbrella term used for magic used by the enemies of the player; a Blue mage is the class that would have access to these abilities. The term is used almost exclusively in the Final Fantasy franchise and while Blue magi have not been seen in some time as a playable class, there have been characters that have been able to find and make use of enemy abilities. Quistis Trepe was able to use Blue magic in Final Fantasy VIII, as was Quina in Final Fantasy IX.
