The CD-i was a multimedia device released in 1991. It featured some video game software on it, though not as much as your typical home console. The device is also notable for releasing three poorly-made video games for The Legend of Zelda series. The CD-i also released Hotel Mario, a poorly-made Mario video game. These video games were not developed by Nintendo, and series creator Shigeru Miyamoto had no input in their creation but Nintendo did license the video games to be developed.
