The Capcom Five is a name given to five games that Capcom promised to release for the Nintendo GameCube. They were all announced as exclusives, but eventually most of them were ported to the PlayStation 2:
- P.N.03 (Not ported - sold poorly on the GameCube)
- Dead Phoenix (Cancelled)
- Resident Evil 4 (Ported to PlayStation 2)
- Killer7 (Became a multi-platform release)
- Viewtiful Joe (Ported to PlayStation 2)
According to some reports, Nintendo allowed Viewtiful Joe to become a multi-platform title, under the condition that Resident Evil 4 stay a GameCube exclusive. This didn't become reality, and RE4 was ported to the PlayStation 2.
Legacy of Capcom Five[ | ]
The Capcom Five, in the long run, will be seen as a revitalization of Capcom, spawning a new franchise in Viewtiful Joe series, reviving a dead series (Resident Evil), and indirectly giving birth to Clover Studio, the developer behind Okami.
