Close Combat: Wacht am Rhein, is a World War II real-time tactics game, developed by Strategy 3 Tactics, and released on October 28, 2008.[1] A remake of the fourth installment of the Close Combat series, the game is played on a two-dimensional map, between either one or two players.
Based on the fighting of the Americans and the Germans in the Ardennes Forest during the Battle of the Bulge; all the units in the game are based on those used in December 1944. The game may be played as either the Germans, or the Americans.
Gameplay[ | ]
Combat takes place in two phases. First in a movement phase, battle groups may be moved around the Ardennes Forest area. After this strategic phase any moves which have resulted in both a German and American battle group being present result in the two battle groups engaging in a tactical battle on a two-dimensional map.
