Structural Discussion[]
I am a huge supporter of the idea of this wiki, and I hope that one day it can serve as the wiki for gamers to go to. That said, there's a lot that needs to be done here. Most importantly, we need an agenda as how to improve this wiki. What can we do? Aegiscamra (talk) 04:39, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for asking. There are several things that really need doing, some tasks bigger than others
- 1) I did a small comb through of articles in the main namespace, and got rid of anything glaringly out of place. I've done an audit of around two-thirds of the templates on the site, the rest just need to either given the OK, or brought up to spec.
- 2) At some point, files need a complete audit.

should ideally be used on any file we have. - 3) Video game articles need to be brought up to spec, with mistakes corrected, infobox cleaned up, and images used where necessary.
- 4) I have developed a system for Walkthroughs; I know some wikis in my experience have let individual users write their own, but I feel that a Walkthrough that caters to both casuals, and 100% completionists should be a USP that we offer.
- 5) If you can, please join the Discord channel on the front page, it makes communication easier.TwoTailedFox (talk) 18:39, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
On cleaning up Wikipedia imports[]
Not sure if this is the best place to put this. Even though DF, during his importing spree, insisted that 99% of articles were not already on the wiki, it seems that he did not look very far and overwrote plenty of original articles. I would therefore suggest that while cleaning up Wikipedia imports that we check the history on Wikia for any previous quality revisions. It would be a shame to see original content buried under bilge. Though it seems a few users made more discrete copies from Wikipedia, eg. copying only the first paragraph. Those are harder to identify but as we are striving to create a unique identity for ourselves, we should not copy these. Gcx0 (talk) 15:56, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
