Commander Keen 2: The Earth Explodes

Commander Keen 2: The Earth Explodes is the second episode of the Invasion of the Vortiocons trilogy. This game was released almost at the same time as the first episode. However, this game was not released as shareware. In order to play this game, you needed to buy the whole trilogy.

The Story[ | ]

In this episode a Vorticon Mothership is poised above Earth, preparing to destroy every major city within their deadly Tentalus Ray! Keen must sneak aboard the ship and stop each Tantalus team from their terrible task. If he fails, the Earth explodes!

Keen's Mission[ | ]

As you already know, your mission is to stop these evil bastards from blowing up the earth. In order to do this you need to find and destroy each X-14 Tantalus Ray, powered by cells from the big purple Space Amoeba. You need to find your way in the ship to each Tantaulus Control Room. You start in the ship's galley, and must find items to help you on your quest. You already have a Vorticion Hyper-Pistol, which has almost no ammunition at all, and of course, the pogo stick from your mars adventure.

Enemies and Characters[ | ]

Commander Keen
This is Commander Keen, Defender of Earth!
Vorticon
Killable by a single gun shot, but they are still very dangerous. They can jump pretty high, but only in light, they can't jump in the dark.
Guard Robot
A dangerous robot which can fire 4 shots at a time, which will make it very hard to dodge. These robots can't be killed.
Vorticon Warrior
The most dangerous creature in the game. Can fire, run and jump, so make sure you kill it before it kills you. Take 4 gun shots to kill it.
Scrub
These robots can't harm Keen. They can climb almost everywhere, up and or across the walls. They can push you or even carry you. Sometimes they can get very annoying, but often they can even help you out.
Young Vorticon
A very annoying creature which can run and jump with a great speed. Watch out for this creature, because it can easily paralyze Keen.
