Stub Computer and video games normally correspond to given genres, or types, of gameplay. These genres serve as a descriptor of the general nature of the gameplay inherent to a given title. Within a single genre, games will often share common characteristics, but because of inherent differences in game design, and genre mixing, sometimes games can belong to multiple genres, and occasionally, games within a single genre will look quite dissimilar from one another. SITENAME attempts to standardize genres into the following classes. ==Notes== This list is by no means finalised; the possibility exists that there are several fully-represented genres not covered by this document. Please discuss it as you see fit, but check to ensure that genres are not being duplicated or assigned redundantly. A genre should have multiple representative games before being added to the list. Admins will add approved genre definitions to the list for expansion and subsequent wiki entry. For Category of Genres, see here. ==See also== * Arcade game * Console * Genre * List of gaming firsts * List of gaming pioneers * Personal computer Genres Stub
