Discontinued is a term used to describe something that is no longer in production. In regard to consoles and video games, it refers to the end of the manufacturing life cycle. After a certain period of time, and depending on several factors, games and consoles will no longer be manufactured and may not be stocked in common retailer locations such as Best Buy, Walmart, or GameStop.
