Europe is a continent on Earth that contains many nations, such as France, Germany, Spain, Poland and the United Kingdom. All games released here use the PAL format.

All of the countries in Europe, excluding Germany, use the PEGI (or Pan European Game Information) content rating system for its video games. In the United Kingdom, they use both PEGI and the British Board of Film Classification, while in Germany, they use the USK.

27 countries in Europe are members of the European Union, a political union established to foster peaceful relations and tariff-free trading between members.

The United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Russia belong among the largest gaming markets by revenue in the world. 12 of top 50 video game companies are based in Europe.
