Fairchild Semiconductor is a company based in San Jose, California that was founded in 1957 and again in 1997 as a "spin-off" (after it was sold and moved to an independent company). They are most notable in the gaming industry for their contributions of making the first ROM cartridge video game system, the Fairchild Channel F and all associated products (games and peripherals).
