The Wind Fish is a creature that's trapped in a giant egg upon a mountain on Koholint Island in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. He has been trapped in a sleeping state by the Nightmare on that island, who feared losing control should the Wind Fish ever awaken. Link, who ended up trapped on the island along with the Wind Fish, found the eight Instruments of the Sirens and used them to play the Song Of Awakening to awaken the Wind Fish, defeating the Nightmare and causing everything on the island to disappear, including the island itself.
