This version of the Final Fantasy VIII Demo was released for the PlayStation in North America and Japan alongside a copy of Brave Fencer Musashi as part of the SquareSoft '98 Collector's CD Vol 2 - Final Fantasy VIII disc. It was also available via a Pizza Hut promotion. In Europe, it was available via the October issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine, and in France it was included with the October-November issue of PlayStation Magazine.
