Finn is one of the two protagonists of the video game Blackwood Crossing, alongside Scarlett.
Throughout Blackwood Crossing[]
Finn's life began tragically with the death of his parents when he was very young. As a result, he was raised by his grandparents, who gave him and his sister free reign of their farm, where Finn spent most of his time playing and inventing in his treehouse.
When Scarlett, Finn's sister, wakes up on a train, she embarks on a journey to find him, encountering various masked individuals along the way who offer vague clues about her situation. As she progresses, she begins to see visions of familiar places, like their grandfather's greenhouse and the treehouse they shared as children.
Throughout the journey, Scarlett discovers her ability to give life to objects and control fire, which she uses to overcome obstacles and puzzles in her path. She also encounters a dark substance called Umbra that seems to hate light.
Eventually, Scarlett confronts Finn, who is angry with her for leaving him alone. She can either redeem herself by transferring fire to their treehouse or cause further conflict by transferring it away. After resolving their conflict, they end up on a beach with a makeshift raft, where Finn asks Scarlett to help him fix up 'Finnland,' a place they had always dreamed of building together.
As Scarlett works to improve Finnland, she encounters the rabbit-masked figure again and is led through a tunnel back to the treehouse and then the train, and back to Finnland.
It is then revealed that Finn died in an accident while Scarlett was out on a date, and her journey has been an interaction with his spirit. Scarlett uses her magic to bring Finn and their parents together one last time, and they walk away into the moonlight as luminescent butterflies.
Scarlett wakes up back on the train, and it appears that her entire journey was just a dream. However, she notices an animal mask nearby that resembles the one worn by the mother figure, leaving the reader to question the true nature of Scarlett's journey.
