Half-Life 2: Lost Coast is a standalone additional level for the first-person shooter game Half-Life 2. The level was originally intended to be part of the main story, but was later cut. Instead, Valve, in 2005, released Half-Life 2: Lost Coast as a technical demo with commentary, essentially demonstrating HDR rendering using the Source Engine. It was released for free, via Steam, to those who had purchased Half-Life 2.
