The Ice Climbers are Nana (pink) and Popo (blue), who appear in the Nintendo Entertainment System title, Ice Climber. Over a decade after their game was released, Nintendo included them as starting characters in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Here, Nana & Popo are one character, and many of their moves require teamwork. However, they can be defeated separately, causing the remaining ones attack to be weakened drastically, and some moves unusable. They return as playable characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, although they were excluded from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, but returned in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
