John Carmack.

John Carmack is the co-founder of id Software and one of the most influential figures in the video game industry. One of his most famous works is the PC game Doom, as well as it's following sequels. Being a programmer, he was more about the technical side (such as the 3D graphics) while the infamous John Romero was more about the design side of the game.
