Justice is a boss that can be encountered in SANABI. Chronologically speaking, it is the fourth boss of the game.

Behavior[ | ]

This boss can fly and attack the protagonist using its sword. It uses advanced cloaking technology in order to ambush the protagonist, seemingly appearing from and disappearing into thin air. Justice will often attack by dashing forwards and slashing, or suddenly appearing and performing a circular slash. Some variants have shield devices that orbit them, forcing the player to destroy each orbiting device before they can attack Justice directly.

Throughout SANABI[ | ]

Justice first appears in the business district of Mago City, where the protagonist and Mari encounter her. As an excited fan, Mari insists on getting a selfie taken with Justice, which she promptly allows and disappears before the protagonist can question her, leaving with the cryptic warning that "[they're] watching." Mari explains that Justice is apparently a wandering mercenary and famous vigilante; the protagonist is skeptical of their presence in the city, however.

Justice appears several more times, watching from a distance before quickly disappearing, apparently tailing the protagonist throughout the city. They do not directly cross paths again, however, until the protagonist and Mari attempt to steal a flying car from a warehouse, where they find that Justice has sabotaged them by destroying all of the cars. Justice then battles the protagonist, who defeats her, before an array of additional "Justices" attack.

Following the defeat of the last Justice, the protagonist reveals that there is an even larger assortment of dormant Justices, cloaked and waiting to be activated. He reveals that the Justices they encountered were not humans, but instead robots, posing as the real Justice. He posits that the real Justice had her personality turned into data and copied by the Mago Group, turning her into a corporate weapon.

This is later revealed to be true, as records related to the Sanabi Project show that Justice was a failed attempt to turn datafied personalities into weapons. It is revealed that the copies of Justice did not mentally function well, and falsely believed that they were battling villains.

A post-credits scene reveals Justice stopping an attempted robbery in Mago City, implying that the real Justice is still alive and well.

Appearance[ | ]

It appears to be a large gray mech with varying silver and red parts on it. When flying, it has large yellow wings on its back that remain stationary. On its "face" is a digital screen, often displaying a simplistic pair of yellow dots for eyes and a line for a mouth. However, being a screen, it is capable of changing expressions. It is equipped with a large, oversized katana.

Beneath the mech suit, Justice appears to be an adult woman with long, white hair tied into a ponytail with an orange and purple bow. They also wear what appears to be a jumpsuit with a black torso and orange legs. Their eyes are not visible, presumably obscured by their hair.

Trivia[ | ]

  • It is not clear whether the Justice that Mari took a photo with is the real one, given the strange circumstances. However, the protagonist assures Mari that they were most likely the real one.
  • It is not explained how the Mago Group obtained Justice's personality data in the first place.
  • Justice's gender is not entirely clear: they have a feminine appearance, and are typically referred to with female or gender-neutral pronouns. However, there is one instance of Justice being referred to with male pronouns; whether this is a simple oversight or intentional is unknown.
