Gold coin

A common feature in most video games is the ability to collect items and currency. Currency is typically used to buy things (such as Rupees in The Legend of Zelda series). Collectible items (such as Power Stars in Super Mario 64 or emblems in Sonic the Hedgehog series) aren't used for purchasing, but are gathered as a collection.
