The Magnavox Odyssey 100 is a 1975 home Pong console developed by Magnavox. The Magnavox Odyssey 100 was Magnavox's first home Pong console and marked their introduction to the pong console market. The Magnavox Odyssey 100 was the first in the Magnavox Odyssey series of home Pong consoles developed by Magnavox, and was followed by the Magnavox Odyssey 200 just a few months later.
Gameplay[ | ]
The Magnavox Odyssey 100 features two variants of pong, Tennis and Hockey, which are selected by a switch labelled A and B on the front of the console. The in-game paddles are controlled by 3 knobs located on each side of the console; two knobs move the paddle vertically and horizontally, while the third paddle affects the ball's direction. The game is scored manually with a slider in the center of the console; the highest available score on the slider is 15.
Design[ | ]
The Magnavox Odyssey 100 can be powered by six "C" Batteries, or via the mains with a 9-volt AC adapter.
