Maid of Sker is a first-person survival horror game developed and published by Wales Interactive for Microsoft Windows, the PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One on July 28, 2020, then on the Nintendo Switch on November 26, 2020, although the original release for Microsoft Windows, the PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One was supposed to be in 2019, and sometime earlier in 2020 for the Nintendo Switch.

Premise[ | ]
The game is set in the year 1898 in a hotel called Sker Hotel, found on an imaginary island called Sker Island. Thomas Evans, the protagonist of this game, is invited by his lover, Elisabeth Williams, to uncover the mysteries of the hotel after she notices the strange behavior of her family. While exploring the hotel, Thomas learns that "The Quiet Ones" (the cult followers) control the place. He finds notes and gramophone records scattered around the hotel that reveal the history of Elisabeth's family.

Several Welsh and British folklore tales provide inspiration for the story, specifically Sker House, a historical building in Wales, made famous by The Maid of Sker, the three-volume novel written by R. D. Blackmor. The folklore story of the same name titled Y Ferch o’r Sger in Welsh also influenced the game.
