Mattel is the toy company well known for its classic Barbie and Hot Wheel toy lines. It entered into the video game market in the early 1980s with the release of the Mattel Intellivision, marketing it through their Mattel Electronics division which folded in 1983.
It also marketed the Nintendo Power Glove controller for the NES along with a few games that used it. It additionally handled distribution and sales of the NES in Canada.
The company has left the video game industry.
