Minecraft: Wii U Edition was the port of Minecraft for the Wii U, developed by Mojang AB and 4J Studios. It was released on December 17, 2015, for US$29.99 on the Nintendo eShop, with a retail disc version being released on June 17, 2016. This edition is bundled with seven add-on packs, and sixteen additional packs are also available as downloadable content.
This port of Minecraft has been discontinued; its last update was in March 2019. It is no longer possible to purchase the game digitally as of March 27, 2023; however, the game can still be redownloaded if it was previously purchased and physical copies still function normally. All online functionality was discontinued with the shutdown of the Nintendo Network on April 8, 2024.
