Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition was the former title of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition for the universal Windows 10 platform developed by Mojang AB and Xbox Game Studios. Announced on July 4, 2015, a beta version was released on July 29, 2015 for US$9.99 on the Microsoft Store. Those who have purchased Minecraft: Java Edition prior to October 19, 2018 got Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition for free. It was fully released on December 19, 2016 and costs US$26.95 on the Microsoft Store.
