Mortal Kombat is a famous Fighting video game series created by Ed Boon, and John Tobias for arcade platforms in 1992. Mortal Kombat was highly successful upon release in 1992, and went on to spawn two sequels, Mortal Kombat II in 1993, and Mortal Kombat 3 in 1995. Mortal Kombat is known for its hardcore fighting style, and extensive use of gore and violence. Mortal Kombat was one of the leading causes of the creation of ESRB video game rating system, that has been used to rate all North American video games since 1994.
