Multiclassing is a mechanic whereby a player can take on the abilities of more than one class. Video games such as Neverwinter Nights allow the player to utilize up to three classes at once, although it goes without saying that while such a character may be versatile, a character that has multiclassed will in general be weaker than one that has not.
