Pistol Daimyo no Bōken (ピストル大名の冒険 lit. "The Adventure of the Pistol Feudal Lord") is a side-scrolling shooter arcade game that was released by Namco in 1990 only in Japan. It runs on Namco System 1 hardware. It is a spin-off of Bravoman, as the titular character appeared in that game as a boss-type enemy. This game was never released in the United States, due to its slightly questionable content.
Gameplay[]
The player controls Pistol Daimyo, a little Japanese lord who has a pistol strapped to his head and fans on his feet. He faces to the right of the screen and the background scrolls to the left, bringing enemies into view. The player tries to destroy enemies for points and powerups. Pressing the button makes his pistol fire a tiny shot; holding down the button charges the pistol, and upon releasing the button the pistol shoots a bigger cannonball. Even the smallest enemies take multiple hits, so the standard shot is of little use. When Pistol Daimyo is hit without any armor, he dies and players have to watch him do a naked dance in which he uses his fans to hide his shame. Also, upon completion of the game, he is seen dancing fully clothed in front of a picture of some strange-looking Japanese people on a beach. This game also features voice samples in Japanese.
