PlayStation Plus is the premium subscription service offered by Sony Corporation that provides benefits for users of the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita, and is mandatory for multi-player services to function for PlayStation 4 players (though MMO games, such as Destiny and Destiny 2, still allow access without PlayStation Plus, with the explicit exception of player versus player content). Users are also entitled to a number of free games (a perk that started in 2010 in the aftermath of the data breach suffered by Sony), useable as long as the person is subscribed to PlayStation Plus; the games on offer change every month, and can be added to the user's online library when available. PlayStation Plus can be bought in monthly, tri-monthly, and yearly packages.
As of March 8, 2019, Sony longer offered PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita video games as part of its PlayStation Plus subscription service. Sony previously stopped offering PlayStation Portable video games as of April 2012.
