Princess Daisy first appeared as the kidnapped princess Mario was charged to save in Super Mario Land for the Game Boy. It was speculated that Daisy was an alias for Princess Peach, but she has since become her own character in games like Mario Party and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. Daisy appears as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an echo fighter of Peach, marking her first playable appearance outside the Mario series.

During Mario's visit in her kingdom she was kidnapped by Tatanga the Mysterious Spaceman and was forced to marry him. Mario defeats a boss, but he encounters the fake Princess Daisy. In the final level after Mario defeats Tatanga, Daisy thanked him and left Chai Kingdom.
