In Battle

Recover restores up to 50% of the HP of the Pokémon that uses the move. If the Pokémon has full HP, or if the difference between the user's maximum HP and current HP is 255 modulo 256 (i.e. if the difference between current HP and max HP is 255 or 511), Recover will fail.
