RedOctane is a developer of video game peripherals, primarily dance pads and guitar controllers. Their co-creation of the Guitar Hero series with Harmonix Music Systems launched them to household-name status. On June 6, 2006 Activision acquired RedOctane for a reported $99.9 million in cash and stock.
