RAGE (short for Rockstar Advanced Game Engine), is a game engine created by the RAGE Technology Group, which is a division of Rockstar Games' Rockstar San Diego studio. Rockstar has used the engine to power its video games published on the Wii, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
It has been used to create Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis [1] and Grand Theft Auto IV.[2][3]
Prior to RAGE, Rockstar mostly used Criterion Games' RenderWare engine to develop various game titles, including the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Microsoft Windows installments of the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
