Rockstar San Diego (formerly known as Angel Studios) is one of the development studios under the Rockstar Games umbrella. It continued development of the Red Dead series with Red Dead Redemption. The studio also developed the RAGE engine which is used in almost all Rockstar Games, including Grand Theft Auto IV. Angel Studios was acquired by Take Two Interactive in November 2002 and rebranded to Rockstar San Diego after attaching it to Rockstar Games's corporate structure.[1]
