The Sega Superstars series is a series of crossover video games featuring video game characters from games developed or published by Sega Corporation. Currently three games: Sega Superstars, Sega Superstars Tennis, and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing are the entries in the Sega Superstars series. Fighters Megamix was the first game to feature characters from multiple Sega video game series, but is not officially a release in this series. ===Sega Superstars=== Sega SuperStars Sega SuperStars is a compilation of more than a dozen minigames, which feature classic Sega characters and games redesigned exclusively for the EyeToy. The player can race through Sonic's Super Speed Tube, collect bananas in Super Monkey Ball, battle Akira or Lau of Virtua Fighter fame, and play a variety of instruments in Samba de Amigo. This is Sonic's first appearance in a game rated higher than E for Everyone by the ESRB. He would again appear in games like this such as Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Unleashed, all rated E10+, Sega Genesis Collection and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, both rated T (though the former of the two is actually an archive title). This game was designed by Sonic Team and produced by Yuji Naka the game has received generally mixed reviews, but overall positive reviews with an overall Average Ratio of 74.1 at Game Rankings. ===Sega Superstars Tennis=== Sega Superstars Tennis Sega Superstars Tennis is a tennis game which includes 16 playable Sega characters, such as Sonic the Hedgehog, AiAi of Super Monkey Ball fame, Ulala from Space Channel 5 and Amigo from Samba De Amigo, each of whom have their own unique attributes. The game's arcade style matches are played out on 10 courts based on environments from Sega games of the past such as Seaside Hill from Sonic Heroes and Carnival Park from the Samba De Amigo franchise amongst others. The game also features minigames from series such as shooting balls at zombies from House of the Dead. Sega Superstars Tennis was built on Virtua Tennis 3s engine heavily customized by Sumo Digital under supervision from all relevant Sega internal studios. The game has received generally mixed, but overall positive reviews. Eurogamer praised the game for its fan service and gave it 7/10. Games Magazine Official Nintendo Magazine UK reviewed both the Wii and DS versions of the game, saying they both had great gameplay, fun minigames and were enjoyable in multiplayer. IGN called the Wii version "a tennis game that should have been better than it is."
