The Samsung Gear VR is a discontinued virtual reality head-mounted display developed and manufactured by Samsung that was designed to be used by its range of smartphones.
In 2019, Samsung announced they were discontinuing the Gear VR, and starting in June 2020, Samsung began terminating its companion apps Samsung XR and Samsung VR. While the Gear VR itself has been discontinued, Samsung has commented that it remains committed to the Augmented and Virtual Reality ecosystem, and will continue exploring opportunities.[1]
