Single-player refers to a video game, or a mode in a game, that can be played alone, played offline, or is only able to support one player at a time. This does not include hot seat multi-player, even though only one person at a time is playing. Nearly all games have a single-player mode, some more focused than others. Role-playing and action video games tend to have stronger single-player experiences over other genres, but this is not always the case.
