SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! is a video game based on the animated television series SpongeBob SquarePants. There is a total of 30 mini-games for the PS2 version.

Game Boy Advance version[]

When an episode of the popular series "The New Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy", is supposed to be filmed in Bikini Bottom and Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy fail to show up, with the show in danger of being canceled, the show's producer, Gill Hammerstein makes it SpongeBob's job to find Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy and gain roles for him and his friends in order for the show to go on.

  • Journey to various stages, winning roles along the way.
  • Fight bosses in ways spoofing off that of Dance Dance Revolution.
  • Participate in a variety of Mini-games when you need a break from the Main Game.
  • Numerous cameo appearances from the SpongeBob SquarePants TV series.
  • The GBA version of this game has a similarity to Super Mario Bros 2.

PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox versions[]

The game begins as 6 characters from the TV show battle to get an audition in a film titled, "The New Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy," by winning a series of 30 mini-games, or auditions, which are split in two categories : 4-player free-for-all and 2-vs.-2. There are collectibles the player can collect by doing various things (i.e. manage to get a 20 patty combo on the mini game, " Flippin' out.")The mini-games have different objectives with different skills(i.e. breaking out of jail, performing a concert, etc.)

PC version[]

When an episode of the popular series "The New Adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy", is supposed to be filmed in Bikini Bottom and nobody shows up to audition except for one yellow sponge. With the show in danger of being canceled, the show's producer, Gill Hammerstein makes it SpongeBob's job to collect props and find actors in order for the show to go on.

  • Use SpongeBob to perform mini-missions and tasks for other characters in Bikini Bottom, convincing them to be on the TV Show!
  • Participate in a variety of Mini-Games when you need a break from the Main Game.

Reception[]

The game was generally criticised by reviewers saying, " it's too much like Mario Party," and it's, "lack of originality." Although, there are a few reviewers that love the game.
