The Tapwave Zodiac is a handheld console created by Tapwave. It is the first Palm OS 5-based gaming device. So it functions as both a PDA and video game player. However, despite being the first 3D handheld, the Tapwave did not last long against rumors about the PlayStation Portable having a touch screen and running Palm OS, and similarly the upcoming Nintendo DS. Due to lack of titles, and poor advertisement targeting towards older gamers, it did not garner much in sales. On July 25, 2005, Tapwave announced that the Zodiac would be discontinued and no longer supported as the company shut down.
