The Dalmatians is a video game, released for the PlayStation in 2000, and published by Midas Interactive. While there is a variety of mini-games targeted for young children, the game has the peculiarity of having more of a cinematic feel, rather than playable portions. The game was followed by a sequel published by Phoenix Games, called Dalmatians 2 for the PlayStation (also known as Dalmatians 3 for the PlayStation 2, and Dalmatians 4 for the Nintendo DS and Wii).
Plot[]
Tuepfelchen, the little Dalmatian dog despairs. Just a second ago she had been playing with her two brothers and sisters and now they are gone. Together with Kruemel, the young half-breed dog, he starts looking for them.
Soon they meet a gang of street dogs. They persuade the dogs to help them. Without success, they search the whole city. All of a sudden Butcher, the clumsy Bulldog discovers a trace of the two. The small Dalmatians aren't well. The dog gang decides to act and Kruemel already has a plan.
Reception[]
The animated feature included, like most of the Dingo Pictures ones, released by Midas Interactive and Phoenix Games, has been widely panned for its cheap-looking animation, awkward-sounding English dub, irritating characters, and misplaced music. It's also considered, along with the box art, mainly a rip-off of Disneys's One Hundred and One Dalmatians.
