The Infected is an action survival sandbox game developed and published by DigX Studios. It was released on Steam for Microsoft Windows on August 7, 2020.
Premise[ | ]
This game is essentially an open world sandbox, survival crafting game where the player can build their base, defend and protect themselves from wildlife and infected Vambies (hybrid of vampires and zombies).
Story[ | ]
The story revolves around how a virus at first was under control with a treatment that seemed promising. A drug trial seemed to work, as the population was becoming healthier again and fatality rates were dropping. However, some unexpected side effects began to arise, causing human DNA to mutate them into a Vambies.
Several friends headed out to a remote part of a forest for a weekend of camping. However, after not returning and no sign of their whereabouts, one of the parents decided to go take a look see at their last known location.
