The Simpsons: Bart vs. The Space Mutants is a game developed by Imagineering and Arc Developments and published by Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. for the Nintendo Entertainment System, the Master System, the Sega Genesis and the Game Gear. It is based on the popular cartoon show of the same name.

Story

Through a pair of X-ray glasses, Bart Simpson finds out that there are aliens disguised as humans among the people of Springfield. They are seeking to take over the world, and they need special objects to fuel their machines in order to do so. Unable to convince the general public of the danger that they're in due to Bart's reputation as a bad boy, he must put those bad-boy skills to good use to foil the aliens' plans as long as possible and get his family members to believe his story and to help him.

Gameplay

In the first four levels of the game, Bart must search for the various objects the aliens are looking for and get rid of them in any way possible, while looking for any aliens disguised as humans that he can jump onto to release crystals for spelling out the name of a Simpson family member. In the first level, Bart must find any objects that are purple and cover them up using spray paint and anything he can get his hands on. He must be careful to avoid running into any aliens that are jumping around, because they can cost him a life.
