Treyarch is an American video game developer company, founded in 1996 by Peter Akemann and Doğan Köslü (born Don Likeness), and acquired by Activision in 2001. It is located in Santa Monica, California.

In 2005, Gray Matter Interactive was merged into Treyarch.

As part of the 2007 Leipzig Games Convention Activision announced that Treyarch would be one of three developers behind their first James Bond based title, Quantum of Solace. The game was released 31 October 2008 in Europe and 4 November 2008 in North America. Beenox and Vicarious Visions created the title's PC and handheld versions. Treyarch assisted in making the Call of Duty series.Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops holds the record for the largest ever entertainment launch in history in any form of entertainment, breaking the record within 24 hours of its release. Sales reached up to $310 million within the first day.
