Unreal Engine 5 is the newest iteration of Epic Games' Unreal Engine, and became officially available for developers on April 5, 2022, alongside the sample projects Lyra (that is playable) and Sample City (that are the city, buildings, vehicles and crowds from The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience, which uses Unreal Engine 5 and released in December 2021 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S).
CD Projekt Red, Epic Games and The Coalition have all been confirmed to be developing video games using Unreal Engine 5.
