Some feedback[]

You have just deleted a page saying "Mancala World, the world biggest wiki on mancala games, has reached today (August 2, 2009) the 500 article mark. We are a multi-lingual project in 17 languages and always open to new editors."

claiming ...

"These articles are more than six years old, and many links referenced no longer work. I'm all for gaming journalism, but this was a project that didn't quite make it."

No, almost all of our articles have been edited/started in the last few years. In fact we got 363 new articles since I wrote the article on August 2, 2009. While there might be links that do not work, most of them do. We are now the last wiki on that kind of games after a Spanish wiki called Wikimanqala became defunct this year.

Greetings --Mr Mancala (talk) 10:59, November 30, 2014 (UTC)

Question.[]

Hey! I hope you don't mind me using this talk page to discuss matters pertaining to this wiki. I had a suggestion for our index system. Having a list seems sort of....uninteresting. What I was thinking of was having a table format. Something like this:

Name Platform Rating Year
DEF xxxx - xxxx
GHI xxxx - xxxx
JKL

xxxx

- xxxx

And with the sortable option, so a person could oragnize it by name, platform, year, and rating. I believe it will look much more professional, not to mention alot more information. Let me know what you think. Zmario 14:29, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

Hmm....now that you mention it, the platform would be difficult, specially when some games are released on 4/5 different platforms. Let's see here.....
Name Year Developer Publisher
Super Mario 64 1996 Nintendo EAD Nintendo
Super Mario Sunshine 2002 Nintendo EAD Nintendo
Super Mario Galaxy 2007 Nintendo EAD Nintendo
Of course, this is just a hypothetical table with those added elements. When we include the sort option, it will feel alot more polished. Zmario 15:20, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

Hey TwoTailedFox! Just wanted to drop you a note letting you know how I've gotten a good idea of how the table would look on the index page. You can see the results here. Zmario 21:04, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

Centered looks really good. I just wish we could use the index template on that sandbox to get the full affect. Zmario 21:31, April 17, 2014 (UTC)
It looks sort of...off. The table is nicely centered, but the template is still on the lefthand side. And maybe it's just me, but do you see a floating "list" with the letters "V, T, and E"? Zmario 22:02, April 17, 2014 (UTC)
Ignore the part about the centering issue, I was able to fix it! Zmario 22:12, April 17, 2014 (UTC)
Hahaha, you can tell I'm not very good at Wiki coding. Is there a way we can make the "View, Talk, and Edit" section of the template less noticeable? Zmario 22:18, April 17, 2014 (UTC)
See what I mean? Haha. As for Skype, no I do not have it. I'm not really interested in video chatting services. I tried using the default Facebook one a few times but that was it. Zmario 22:28, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

RfA policy[]

Are we allowed to nominate ourselves for RfA? Last I remember, the policy was that another user had to nominate the person, and then they can accept it or decline it. Zmario 22:43, April 17, 2014 (UTC)

Good job![]

We're getting there: slowly but surely! *collapses* Haha, I'm off to bed for the night, I'll continue this tomorrow. Zmario 01:53, April 18, 2014 (UTC)

Hey TTF, do you mind if we organize names of games on the page like this? Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The? Also, do you think the table looks good enough to actually start incorporating it into the game indexes? Zmario 10:42, April 18, 2014 (UTC)

You know what? I just thought of something we could incorporate to the table: game genre. Zmario 10:55, April 18, 2014 (UTC)

Holy Toledo, that's a massive amount of games. Sure I'll hold off editing (just remember: that list might not have games that are free source, unreleased, private, etc). Zmario 00:58, April 20, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, 4chan doesn't exactly have the best reputation in the world, they may even have some nonexistant games in there. Zmario 01:03, April 20, 2014 (UTC)
Aye, aye, Captain! I'll work on it tomorrow. Zmario 01:23, April 20, 2014 (UTC)
Oops, I never got around to it. Sorry :P! I've been making some incredible progress on the Company Index (still need to go through the US company category...there's over 200 and I have to go through each one to see if we already have it listed or not!) Zmario 12:23, April 25, 2014 (UTC)

Check it out![]

Hey TTF, just wanted to let you know I got as much as the company index filled in as possible, I went through the major categories to find most of them. There's probably a lot more companies that we don't have pages for, or are buried within the walls of EG. The next projects on my list are to insert pictures into pages that do not have any and browse the Wanted Pages section. Zmario 19:01, April 26, 2014 (UTC)

Just a concern....[]

When it comes to the updated infobox for games, I just wanted to let you know that it creates a bunch of new categories that we already have. Mega Man 7 is a good example. We have a category "1995 video games" but the new infobox makes a new category "Games released in 1995". This means that we'll have 2 categories that are the exact same, just worded differently. And, unless we go through every single page in the entire wiki (which I doubt we will), there will be two categories floating around, unnecessarily . Zmario 23:47, April 30, 2014 (UTC)

Also, the category for game ratings needs a colon after the acronym. (ie. ESRB: T, PEGI: 16, etc). Zmario 23:51, April 30, 2014 (UTC)

Visual Editor[]

Hey TTF, just wanted to let you know I activated the Visual Editor feature for EG (as sort of a "trial" go). Let me know how you like it. Zmario 14:49, May 21, 2014 (UTC)

It does not currently work for Internet Explorer, so if you have Chrome or Firefox, you should use that instead. Zmario 14:52, May 21, 2014 (UTC)

There are some other features I would like to activate sometime in the future, to keep our Wiki up to date and give a more "personalized" experience. I wouldn't mind your input on what you would like to see. Zmario 16:52, May 21, 2014 (UTC)

Hey man, come on chat whenever you're available to. Join the party! Zmario 23:21, June 7, 2014 (UTC)

It's been officially three months since his last edit. What shall we do? Zmario 20:10, June 14, 2014 (UTC)

Doesn't it suck that every time you make a change to the infobox you have to go back and fix each one individually? lol Zmario 00:44, June 23, 2014 (UTC)

Hi TwoTailedFox, All those pages and edits i contributed to you deleted! WHY! I didn't copy anything from Wikipedia! Why didn't you check Wikipedia first then decide because you just deleted pages that didn't need to be deleted....

Re: ??[]

Yes, but that was back when i didn't know that we were not allowed to copy from Wikipedia. Like for example, GT-R 400, i didn't copy stuff from that.... Like really old articles that were made in 2008, They're all copied from Wikipedia. Snowyy (talk) 18:31, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

Ok :) Snowyy (talk) 18:58, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

Ok, sure,   BTW you blanked outA-Train 6 which doesn't even have a Wikipedia page! Oh well ill get to work.Snowyy (talk) 06:46, June 26, 2014 (UTC)

We ARE allowed to copy from Wikipedia. See Help:Copying from Wikipedia. Then we improve the articles if we can, adding things relevant to the wiki that are not notable enough to have been on WP and possibly splitting big articles. -- Robin Patterson (Talk) 04:43, November 30, 2014 (UTC)

Update.[]

Hey TTF, I know you've been busy, but I wanted to let you know we have a few solid editors on Codex Gamicus now, and I've been recruiting them to help rebuild the wiki by remaking pages that are direct imports from Wikipedia or other Wikis. Zmario 23:58, July 17, 2014 (UTC)

Experts[]

This is a new idea I thought of the other day and I believe it was an awesome feature to implement. It's called "Codex Gamicus Experts", basically it's a giant list of users who want to become certain "experts" in categories (such as Snowyy likes to do Racing games, I like categories and adding information about in-game characters, etc). There is no limit to what users can pick, or how many "experts" we have for one category, and there is certainly no limit on editing. Zmario 10:58, July 18, 2014 (UTC)

I'm glad you approve. Zmario 22:51, July 18, 2014 (UTC)

Portals in the Nav[]

Hi TwoTailedFox! I want to let you know that since a few of the Portals were renamed, the top navigation hasn't been changed to reflect their new location. Also, a lot of Wikis contain templates and such that link back to these Portals so redirect pages may be justified here. -Revitalizer (talk) 17:16, July 21, 2014 (UTC)

Redlink Remover[]

I have solved the problem to removing redlinks (atleast page redlinks)! Zmario 00:51, July 31, 2014 (UTC)

What's the difference?[]

Hey TTF, there's already a portal for role-playing games. Is there a difference between the one you made and the current one? Zmario 12:39, August 15, 2014 (UTC)

Bot[]

Hey TTF! I made a bot account (made it an administrator and asked for a bot flag from Staff). I tested it out, and it works really well! However, I do want to wait until we have a proper discussion about the bot (something Staff recommends). I'm going to make a blog post about it. Zmario 23:07, August 18, 2014 (UTC)

Well, I wanted it to remove redlinks and broken templates, but apparently it can't do that. So for now, I can have it do general clean-up (adding templates such as stub, orphan, etc. general page clean-up, spelling, grammar, fixing oddball spacing issues). It also has the ability to convert given text into something else (for instance SNES could be moved to Super Nintendo Entertainment System and vice versa). Zmario 09:22, August 19, 2014 (UTC)
For more information you can look here. Zmario 09:44, August 19, 2014 (UTC)

Yo bro![]

Hey man, I want your opinion on this: which genre should we should be putting in for flight games? Flight simulation or Flight Simulator. I checked them over and both have respective categories, however, I'm not sure which is the correct one. I've been using "Flight simulation" for all my infoboxes. I also have a similar problem for List of SNES games/List of NES games (since it's the exact same thing as Famicom/Super Famicom.) Should we rename the proper lists so they reflect both systems? If you noticed, the list of SNES/NES has games also listed that were only released in Japan (Famicom). Feel free to get back to me at your convenience. Thanks! Zmario 12:34, August 28, 2014 (UTC)

Sounds pretty cool, can't wait to see it in action! Zmario 10:27, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Yooooo![]

Pop in chat bro! Zmario 18:27, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

infoboxes[]

Since you're updating infoboxes, might I suggest adding primary links to wikis here on Wiki. You can see an example I suggested 3 years ago here with the template code here. The main reason is to easily direct users to a location with more info about the game, and if one doesn't exist it is know and they can create one. This system has been in use on the Animanga Hub for 5 years now, and we get users editing because they come from those wikis to update their stats.--Sxerks (talk) 16:08, October 3, 2014 (UTC)

Loading the Wiki Wordmark and the wiki name would be more visually appealing. We looked into remotely getting the wiki info, but that's not possible yet without running a bot. That info isn't overly important but it does bring editors.--Sxerks (talk) 18:14, October 3, 2014 (UTC)

Platform field[]

The platform field in Template:GameInfobox now no longer works for some platforms. How can I add to the accepted platforms? Godzilla Gamer (Talk) (Contributions) (Edit Count) 17:03, October 3, 2014 (UTC)

I am new for the wiki. I created the Outlast page. Can I make articles for flash games and DLC-s? Also about old games, that you can see AngryVideoGameNerd played them? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gason (talkcontribs) .

Scope[]

Thank you for clarifying that the scope of Codex Gamicus goes beyond video games. Just want to make sure before I proceed; but would it be acceptable for me to contribute articles about play-by-post role-playing (aka simming)? Thank you again. --ChasTOL (talk) 01:15, November 7, 2014 (UTC)

Can you restore my use page, I had something other than my standard on there and don't remember exactly what it was.--Sxerks (talk) 16:01, November 28, 2014 (UTC)

Kickstarter[]

Hey there, TTF ;)

We were tossing around the idea of moving the Kickstarter content over to our games hub. I was curious if you had an opinion about it either way. Raylan13 (talk) 20:51, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

Sounds good - I went ahead and took the time today to transfer everything over there. TBH, you could probably keep the "funded" section and then revamp the Kickstarter page to be in line with the other portals. I'll leave that up to you ;) But whatever sections you don't want, feel free to delete. Raylan13 (talk) 22:23, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

Deletions[]

Sorry too disrupt your work, but can you explain the deletions you have been making recently? George Edward CTalkContributions 10:03, December 24, 2014 (UTC)

Hey![]

Sorry for the inactivity. I've been addicted to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and World of Warcraft so anytime I'm not at work, that's what I do with myself :P. It seems like I'm not the only person who has recently gone inactive (what happened to everyone?). Anyway, if there are new changes to the infobox or anything, do you mind filling me in? Thanks in advance! Zmario 23:24, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

Sounds interesting, will look forward to checking them out! Zmario 00:03, January 10, 2015 (UTC)

Ubisoft....Ubisoft....all I see is Ubisoft!![]

Ubisoft is love, Ubisoft is life!! Ubisoft? UBISOFT! (I'm not insane, but these subsidiaries of Ubisoft certainly take a toll on a person :P). Zmario 19:48, January 15, 2015 (UTC)

Bl**dy Vikings![]

A user has created a page (Pasang_penangkal_petir_murah) in a foreign language which I can't identify, much less read; but which is obvious spam. For now, I've edited the URL and contact details to prevent it being any use to the spammer, and added a deletion notice; but kindly kill it (and the spammer) with fire.

By the way, the move of "Strife (2015)" to just "Strife" was a bad idea, since there is already a 1996/2014 game of that name; so I moved it back, and changed "Strife" to the disambiguation page it should be. — RobertATfm (talk) 11:30, January 18, 2015 (UTC)

Done, and thank you. Zmario 12:27, January 18, 2015 (UTC)
Moved back. A disambiguation page isn't a wise use the system (as a link to the article can be neatly added to the main article for that name). If this were a game with multiple releases beyond the two (as is the case for many a board game, I suspect), a disambiguation system would make a lot more sense then. Otherwise, we've used three articles where two can easily suffice.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 13:40, January 18, 2015 (UTC)

If there is to be a page called simply "Strife", then by custom and convention it should be the page for the 1996 (relaunched 2014) original, since that one is the original and is still available. Apart from anything else, although the new game is promised, there is no guarantee when, or even if, it will appear; remember Duke Nukem (Took) Forever? — RobertATfm (talk) 14:34, March 14, 2015 (UTC)

Deleting my user page[]

Hi there, you have deleted my user page (User:AlphaTwo) and (User:AlphaTwo/Game Collection) for because you cited various vandalism. But without history, there's no way for me to recover any of it. This seems like a very absurd way of going at this, and right now as those were my only revision copy, I cannot revisit what was even lost. Is there a way for you to restore the page as is, I'll copy the data out, and then you can restore from there? --AlphaTwo (talk) 22:29, February 5, 2015 (UTC)

GameInfobox suggestions[]

Hey TTF, I noticed the "Features" section in the GameInfobox template had some options that were rather specific to Steam, but there aren't really any options specific to other systems, which I think would be a great addition to the template. I had some Nintendo-related ideas myself, such as games with amiibo functionality, or perhaps 3DS games that have StreetPass features. Maybe other systems' games could have their own options as well, like an Xbox Live or PSN connectivity option. What do you think?

Hammer 525 (talk) 00:28, February 19, 2015 (UTC)

We are also missing Intellivision as a platform on the infobox. Just thought I'd let you know :D! Zmario 21:37, February 21, 2015 (UTC)

This is...DELICIOUS![]

The changes to the front page are great! Zmario 00:43, March 14, 2015 (UTC)

Standardization of subpages?[]

PAL_rel?[]

Can you add this parameter on Template:GameInfobox? For certain older games only the PAL release date is available. George (Talk · Contribs · Edit count) 18:33, May 8, 2015 (UTC)

Hey, how are you?

First off, nice job for keeping the Codex Gamicus in such a nice and calm state almost all by yourself. FrenchTouch (talk)

Sorry to slip in here, I've added quite a few of them. I've left out some, as the exact date hasn't been confirmed. Let me know if there's anything that should be up there :) George (Talk · Contribs · Edit count) 15:41, July 16, 2015 (UTC)
I wanted to only put confirmed games, but I saw LEGO MARVEL's Avengers on the Main Page, so I thought that it wasn't too important. Aside from the really big games like Uncharted 4, DOOM, Hitman and Cuphead, there isn't anything else to add.
If you're interested in contributing on a regular basis, I can make you a SysOp - that would grant you access to editing the templates in question.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 16:15, July 16, 2015 (UTC)
It would be great and I really want to contribute on a regular basis, but I'm not sure that I can keep up quite yet. I think I'll need a little bit of acclimatisation first, before considering this possibility. Thanks a lot for the proposition, though :) FrenchTouch (talk)
P.S.: This is completely off-topic, but there are two pages for RapeLay, this one and that one, and I have no idea what to do with 'em.
RapeLay is the correct name, as that's how the name appears on the cover art. All details on the other page should be migrated over, and the old name used as a redirect to the new name.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 16:44, July 16, 2015 (UTC)
What I thought is that since the page RapeLay is from Wikipedia, maybe we should put the content of "Rapelay" into "RapeLay" after removing the previous information, and then having the redirect. Maybe. FrenchTouch (talk)

Wiki Gaming Idea[]

Hey sir!

Thomas gave me the rough idea of what you were thinking and I think it's a fine idea, I love seeing communities cross genre lines wherever possible.

Would it be tied into the genre portals on the gaming dot main page (In addition to GamesHub)? Or just the footers on the bottom of the existing game pages on gaming dot?

In my head it's sort of similar to the affiliate links we see on some Wikis, but with more community input and hopefully collaboration. Using gaming dot as a launchpad for people to find other cool Wiki communities is a great idea and should hopefully support GamesHub as well, which was designed with the same idea in mind.

Lemme know if I'm misinterpreting the idea or missing anything/you have any extra details. Hopefully we can get it going sometime soon!

You can hit me up here or at my email: mgrimm@gamepedia.com

Next game / Previous game[]

Just out of curiousity, what is the purpose of the "Next game" and "Previous game" fields? I can't seem to find any correlation between the pages. George (Talk · Contribs · Edit count) 18:20, August 3, 2015 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I'm noticing that. They're supposed to show the previous and next games in the semantic database, but they're not showing correctly. Will probably move until I can pinpoint the issue.--TwoTailedFox (talk) 18:22, August 3, 2015 (UTC)

Arwingpedia[]

Hey, Z told me about the Wiki Gaming Network and such. I created a blog post on my wiki to announce a partnership with you guys here so that we may be able to help out in any way here on Star Fox related content or more. Also do you mind adding Star Fox Zero in the main page at the Upcoming Video Game Releases section sometime? Thanks. StarFox0(Star Fox Wiki)(talk) 03:01, August 13, 2015 (UTC)

Star Fox pages[]

Hey, been busy changing the infoboxes for the Star Fox Wiki. I just want to ask if it is ok to add the Star Fox Zero cover to the Star Fox Zero page here. I also wanna ask if it is ok that when I add some info to the Star Fox pages, if that info can be from our wiki but re-worded in some areas or more to be more original for this wiki. Just wanna ask this because I do want to add more info to those pages but it seems a bit hard for me without using any info from our wiki. Thanks and will get to helping out here on the Star Fox related pages once I'm done with replacing all the infoboxes on my wiki with the portable ones. Star Fox Zero Delay[]

Hey there, Star Fox Zero has recently been delayed to Q1 2016. Decision made by Mr. Miyamoto for the game to have additional development time. You can change the release date of the game on the main page from Q4 2015 to Q1 2016. Thanks. StarFox0(Star Fox Wiki)(talk) 05:57, September 18, 2015 (UTC)

Hi there! I'm an admin on the FFWiki, and I just finished the main article on the series. I also moved much of that page to its gameshub Wiki page, and I was directed to you regarding creating a page for the series here. So, do you have any guidelines/instructions for creating a page on the series here as well? I would like to import much of the content from the FFWiki's page, but I'm sure there will be issues with compatability such as reference templates and links not working properly - and I'm not sure how in-depth the coverage should be here.--Technobliterator 22:34, October 27, 2015 (UTC)

Spotlight Request[]

Hello. Codex Gamicus mostly qualifies for a spotlight - it really only needs two things. The first is simply to fill in the Mobile main page. The other is to sort out the uncategorized pages. I'll let the pages that are only categorized in work categories slide, but the thousand+ that have no category at all do need to be sorted somewhere. Let me know on my wall when you have taken care of those two issues! -- Wendy (talk 06:36, February 3, 2016 (UTC)

Something is odd about those pages. You are correct that there is/are category links at the bottom when you view them. But if you go to the categories they aren't actually in the categories. This sort of defeats the entire purpose of categorization :). It looks like the category links are added by the ElementInfobox template, although the generation of them is complicated enough that I do not know what might be going wrong. You appear to have built that template so perhaps you can sort it out -- I have also asked one of the more technical community support staff to take a look.
It looks like you were able to add something to your mobile main page. The interface to edit it can be frustrating but it does usually work in the end. At this point you will probably want to try to add something beyond "Syndicate" for your mobile visitors to see (?). Give it another try and let me know how it goes. -- Wendy (talk 16:11, February 4, 2016 (UTC)
It appears you were correct that is a caching issue; although not with the list of uncategorized pages, which correctly reported that those pages do not appear in any categories yet. A null edit pushes the categories through properly so the article appears in them. Which means the problem is with the page/category caching. It looks like the "Articles that use ElementInfobox" category was added yesterday. When did you add the item type categories to the template? -- Wendy (talk 16:29, February 4, 2016 (UTC)
Agreed. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't cached from longer ago than a day :) -- Wendy (talk 16:35, February 4, 2016 (UTC)
I'm still not sure your mobile page is exactly what you might want, but I've gone ahead and added the wiki to the approved spotlight list. -- Wendy (talk 03:25, February 6, 2016 (UTC)
That looks better :). -- Wendy (talk 20:23, February 15, 2016 (UTC)

Footers and franchise pages[]

Heya, TTF!

You may have noticed the games hub is... destroyed. It's my understanding that it isn't coming back in any form and that its features are being moved into different parts of the Wiki-verse. The footers program is remaining, to the best of my knowledge, but the promised franchise pages that were supposed to go on the hub now have no home.

I know individual games in a franchise were promised placement over here - would you be averse to us now including franchise pages as well? It would be myself and Pinkachu primarily dipping our toes in. While none of the existing pages would change per se (unless it's included in the footer), we might pop an update into the navigation.

On a connected note - it seems the Kickstarter portal that was originally here now has no home as well. Would you mind if I threw that back in once I received confirmation?

Sorry for the annoyance :( The changes caught all our team completely off-guard.

Classic Platforms[]

Hey mate, how are you?
While looking at the main page, I took a closer look at the platforms section, and maybe there are some things that would need to be changed—whence does a platform become classic? The Dreamcast was out in 1998, which makes it 18 years old, and the Playstation Portable is 10 years old, so, shouldn't all consoles older than Last Gen be considered retro? I wanted to discuss that because I felt like it might be necessary in the future.

With that said, good luck, and good day,
FrenchTouch (talk)

PS: The Action and Adventure portal links lead nowhere, just thought you'd wanna know.

Yeah, I see, but the problem with that is that it makes PSP a current platform and it makes Wii a retro platform so that's kind of a flawed system. Plus, if you look deep enough, there are people still making games for Sega Genesis or NES.

I'm reporting you because:[]

Simply deleting the page without investigating or actually visiting the Wiki makes you look bad, this behaviour is pretty childish actually and the game is greenlit on steam (but not yet on the store) there are various news sources, references, and a whole trailer and a greenlight page on steam confirming what I posted is legit and not some pony princess childish crap like your avatar, if you don't undelete it I'm simply reporting you. No regards.Jacob Mrox (talk) 15:47, December 6, 2016 (UTC)

Would you please consider undeleting the White Day page? If you visit the Wiki, you can see the game is greenlit on steam (but not yet on the store), and there are various news sources, references, a whole trailer and a greenlight page on steam confirming what I posted is legit. Thanks in advance.
This is how you should have posted such a concern. I haven't looked at the deleted version of the page, but any supporting evidence of the game's existence should have been included in the page itself to make TTF's job as easy as possible in making a determination. I'll let him handle how he wants to proceed, but in the future it would be greatly appreciated if you could refrain from harassing or intimidating behavior, especially when it appears an initial, simple query was not attempted. HEY! My name is pebbleswiki. I would like to ask you for something. I'm always looking for things to do on wiki because I'm really emo but I fill the time by makeing as meny small edits or small pages on wiki. This is my favorite wiki and I'm allways trying to do my best. I have been makeing more edits then uesiwal in the last few days and I'v made the saga neptune page, Game Genie Top Loader Adapter page, Added a gallary to the color TV game Page and added PNG files insted of JPG to give the pages better looks. I will admit I made a mistake with makeing a videogame infobox when there was a hardware infobox but thats because I had a problum with the problem with something else that I can fix later. But My questin is (hear me out) can you make me a admin? Now I promis you I'm not going to make evryone a admin, or abuse my power or anything like that I'm not that kind of person, really. I just need it to make edits to pages only admins can edit, Such as info boxes. Now I can completly understand if you dont want to do it but I would be vary happy if you would. Thank you for reading and I owe you one if you make me an admin. See ya. =)

Undoing Edits[]

Okay I guess we have a issue sense you keep on removing everything that I add if it changes what you added, this type of editing is immature. The fact that you do this makes it seem like you want to control any page you work on and that is not a user friendly policy and if anything it breaks the code of conduct. You seem like a good admin so I will kindly ask you to stop there are way to many stubs and if you want them to stay stubs fine keep on doing this.--Starfox u (talk) 21:23, July 14, 2017 (UTC)

Really? You know what fine if you are that upset that someone is changing what you wrote fine I'll leave the wiki. I have worked on wikis and I know what looks good and what makes a admin a good admin. You are most likely someone who is either over confident or you need to make yourself feel better. I have looked though this wiki and to put it simply it is a failure, more then half of the pages are stubs most of the pages that are not stubs were copied and pasted off of Wikipedia. The pages look ugly and to put it simply you are not a good admin undoing edits because you do not like it because it changes your work is unacceable and frankly put a awful way to run things. --Starfox u (talk) 21:29, July 14, 2017 (UTC)

Look the changes that I made streamlined the DOW pages and you keep on messing with the grammar on the DOW page, I understand what you want to do but if you get rid of the sections then I will not always remember to go back and add that stuff. --Starfox u (talk) 21:31, July 14, 2017 (UTC)

To show that you are making a making a grammar error here is proof it is what you changed in the DOF 2 page

What I had was Emphasis witch means special importance, value, or prominence given to something, witch makes sense I played the game mind you now the word that you changed it to. Epitomizes witch means be a perfect example. It doesn't make sense. --Starfox u (talk) 21:35, July 14, 2017 (UTC)

Dawn of War[]

everything that I added was correct, there was zero spelling errors and added new correct information. I have played these games and I have done reviews for it and gameplay walk thoughs. Without my edits it makes it a stub and makes it a page copied and pasted straight from Wikipedia. It is breaking us copyright law by not crediting Wikipedia. So either fix the page or credit Wikipedia, my edits were correct and fixed the page. Starfox u (talk) 22:47, July 17, 2017 (UTC)

How do I not respect the headers? And being complicated is better then being a stub and stealing info from other websites. There is such a thing as fare use and copyright laws if I informed the staff then they would force you to either change the page or credit Wikipedia. Most of your pages are stubs and they copied everything from Wikipedia. Your wiki is a joke and you are a awfully admin. You lik to control everything, there are barley any editors on the wiki, the pages are all bare bones. The biggest joke is the main page says the "Ultimate source of video game information." The thing is it isn't, you do not encourage users to edit pages and fix stubs. A stub means that the page is not up to wiki standards yet you think that it is a good thing. Your edits are useless and never fix any major issues. You never go into depth and it is always a stub. The wiki is a failure, you desire control and you do not want pages to be finished. Nintendo wiki is better, halo wiki is better. My point is your wiki needs a lit of work and you want to pages to remain stubs, that is not a good thing. But fine I will go onto the other video game wiki and edit every page their and in a year it will be better then this wiki I will also inform the staff that you are breaking copyright law and vandalise the pages by removing large chunks of info.Starfox u (talk) 23:25, July 17, 2017 (UTC)

Hi TwoTailed.

Just wanted to say a quick "ey up" and thank you for correcting some of the mistakes on the Freedom Fighters (2003) page that I missed.

As a fellow Gamer, I'm interested in lending a hand with getting the Wiki up to scratch. But I'm kinda in the dark with what I should do.

Any tips or advice you could relay to me?

Thanks again,

P.P.S. Is the Discord still active? Just curious as the last post in it was in July.

Timeline (A little idea of mine)[]

Hi TwoTailed.

Just wanted to present an idea to you.

My idea is a Timeline. Not just any old timeline, but one for events from games like:

  • Resistance: Fall of Man
  • Call of Duty
  • Fallout
  • And many other franchises.

The idea is based off a Kotaku article I read (The Kotaku Article).

Sadly that project hasn't been updated in a long time. So I was wondering if it would be ok with you for me to start a project like this on Codex Gamicus.

Let me know if you have any concerns or questions about this proposal.

A couple of things[]

So I have a few things in my mind to talk to you about and ask.

  1. First is that I created a topic in the forum about some series categories, would be great if you took a look at that one and either answer there or here
  2. So I added a lot of images to the delete tag, among them were these minecraft things and there's a bunch of those and I mean like A LOT, probably 200 pages or something. Is there a more viable way to delete them or do I have to edit each one? Also you added a lot of Never winter nights images which are on many many pages, what's your status with those?
  3. What's the layout and all for video pages? No video page exists right now where I can see how you've done it before, is there any template for them like there is for the covers? Or are users free to layout those?
  4. Adding to a video thing there's also a lot of video placeholders from fandom as they were somehow uploaded as files, same thing as those minecraft images, how to get rid of that?
  5. The discord link on the frontpage doesn't work, might want to replace that if you want people to join
  6. Is t ok to edit future/recent releases as that is outdated now?
  7. Also where is the switch on the main page?

2. & 4. Ok noted
3. That I know, I was more thinking about official trailers & videos linked from youtube as is shown in the video category.
5. That's because you are in the channel already, I get "link is invalid"
7. The Nintendo Switch console isn't among the consoles.

Proposals page[]

Hello, BritishCynic. I was considering that we should have a Codex Gamicus:Proposals page. So users can voice their ideas to help the wiki. When voting, users can support or oppose the proposal. The main rule is the suggestion must always meet the consensus. If all users who replied on the page support the proposal, then the proposal is approved. If a single user opposes the proposal, then the proposal is disapproved. Trust me, I have seen Wikipedia with uesr's proposals. What are your thoughts?
