Welcome to GameInfo![]

Hi Jean-marc, welcome to GameInfo! I really hope you enjoy your stay at this fabulous wiki! Here's a bit of extra reading to get you started. Interested in starting a gaming mini-wiki here? Here's a few things that you should know:

  • While this is not the case on scratchpad and the like, please try to sub-page your mini-wiki's content under that mini-wiki's name (like Mini wiki/Characters instead of Characters), as it helps prevent confusion once something else with the same title is created (for example, having an article about Paladins specific to the mini wiki would clash with someone who wanted to write an article about Paladins throughout gaming).
  • Always put a category that is exclusive for your mini wiki (generally the mini-wiki's name) on each and every page in the wiki so you can have mini-wiki specific Recent Changes.
  • If you want your mini-wiki to have a custom logo (the thing in the top left) or favicon (the thing in the URL bar), please ask me.
  • If you need any help with mini wikis, either ask Afker, our mini-wiki specialist, or me, and we'll try to help.
  • If something in the mini-wiki is strategy-related, put it into the Guide: namespace instead of the main one.

Oh, and why not move your template out into the Template: namespace? Thank you, and happy editing! --SkizzerzTalk - Contribs 13:55, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the thank you, I worked hard on that welcome (It's not a template, I typed it all out manually). Anyway, on to business. I've added the wikitable/prettytable into MediaWiki:Common.css (remember, contrary to popular belief, some people actually LIKE smoke and slate, me being one of them :P), and I've added the collapsible tables/navframe to MediaWiki:Common.js (they do work, I've tested them on another wiki wiki). You may have to reset your cache in order to see the changes, though (click here). As for "good with technical stuff", it depends on what you want me to do. Just ask when the time comes to it, and don't be surprised if I redirect you to someone else (and yes, I am a sysop on GameInfo). --SkizzerzTalk - Contribs 13:57, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't know why they (NavFrame and the like) are not working here. I'll inquire about it shortly. Anyways, about the french pages, I regretfully have to inform you that they have no place here. However, I just don't like to see good content go out the window, so here's what you need to do:

  1. Go to Requests.wiki, and put in a request for fr.gameinfo and follow the instructions on the page.
  2. Once the wiki is accepted, make sure that the default language is French (if it isn't, contact Angela and she'll change it for you).
  3. Use Special:Export to export the french pages you've created here, save the xml to your hard drive, and use Special:Import on fr.gameinfo to import the exported pages there. After you've made sure that they were imported properly, mark the pages on this gameinfo with {{Deletion}} and I'll get around to deleting them eventually.
  4. I'll take care of the "In other languages" links once everything is squared off.

If you have any questions about this process, please ask me and I'll be happy to help (oh, and it would be nice if you found a few friends that know french to support the creation of fr.gameinfo). --SkizzerzTalk - Contribs 19:48, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Just want to chip in and say "Welcome!" too! Hopefully the french GameInfo wiki can be approved quickly (-: -Afker 21:52, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your welcome Afker, nice to see that people are around in the eventuality that I'm in need of some help :)
Well for the french Gameinfo, it would be nice I guess but it was just an idea, not a top priority for me at the moment as I have to build my wiki in english first :) Thanks anyways for your support! Jean-marc 23:55, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Hehe ok. Anyways, like Skizzerz said, if you need help making a mini-wiki navigation box, just drop me a note! -Afker 00:08, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
No, just leave the French stuff there until it has another spot to go to. I highly doubt anyone will need to create an English article with those names. Also, let me know if and when you decide to make a French GameInfo and I'll drop my name under "Support". --SkizzerzTalk - Contribs 01:08, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
